When it comes to art, especially in NFTs, there are two sides: “Real collectors” VS “Quick flippers”.
To be honest, I don’t care about that. What I care about on the other side is: what’s behind the art I’m seeing and what can I do with it.
That’s why I want to explain to you today
but mostly talk to you about the meeting I had with its founder:
Being an artist is tough, no big news here…
I talked to Archan Nair expecting to hear about a mythology. I ended up hearing about a burnout at first… and I’m not even surprised.
That’s usually how the good conversations go. You ask about the art, and you get the part nobody puts in the collection description: the year he stopped creating entirely, the health that went south, the moment he realized he’d been lying to himself about why he was doing any of this… well, life.
I suppose this will talk to the old ones of this ecosystem: the constant pressure as an artist to deliver for others, the difficult balance between art and profit, trying to make a living but also creating strong and new universes in a market where nobody wants to give time for that… Even for a well-known artist.

I’m biased toward artists who talk about the ugly part. Not because it’s a good story (it is), but because it’s… real. As simple as that. In a market full of fluo green pfp well… you know.
The part before the project everyone sees
He has been a digital artist way before all we know now (mostly): in 2006. But that’s not where he started.
He came out of fashion marketing, working on women’s fashion brands.
He left that obviously.
Around the same time, he was one of the early people on DeviantArt, back when “digital art” wasn’t a category anyone took seriously yet, and a beta tester on Behance, at a point when his own work was part of what drove the platform’s early traffic.
He built a real client career on top of that with his skills: Nike, Sony, Vogue… big brands!
His own art on the other hand, the one nobody was commissioning, was about something else entirely: the mystery of existence, how we got here and where we go… after that?
A question he asked himself when his father passed away when he had 14, sadly. It became something he needed to understand, to think about. And his solution for exploring all of that, you guessed, is art.
This art has a meaning, for him but also for its holders. Introspection.
2020-2023: the part where it worked, and the problem after that
He got into NFTs in 2020. Between 2021 and 2023 he was selling, a lot. By most standards, that’s the outcome you’re supposed to want… right?
He describes it as feeling miserable instead. His health got worse. There was pressure, constant, even while the money was coming in.

Everyone cared, and it still broke him, somehow.
So in 2023 he stopped. Fourteen months. First time in his life he didn’t create anything. Off social media entirely.
What did I do, what did I go wrong?
He came from a wealthy family and also knew what being broke felt like, ups and downs, you know.
He’d told himself he wasn’t a greedy person but during his break, he had to admit that, for a while, he had been. Not as an insult to himself, more like a diagnosis he needed before he could come back.
Being honest with himself is the first good step so let’s be honest too: we all are greedy sometimes here.
I don’t hold this up as inspirational content, it’s not my vibe you know…
I hold it up because it’s the only version of “the artist found himself” that I actually trust, the one where he names the flaw instead of skipping straight to the transformation and trying to sell me some shitty online course… (WE SAW YOU GUYS, STOP IT)
How Point Zero and Echoes Within Mūori actually got made
Late 2024, he picked up a Korean ink sketchbook from an art store in Berlin, just for fun, no project attached to it. Just trying to create things with it for fun, that was the start of something fresh, something new.
By December, he started having recurring dreams, “entities” showing up, and he found them genuinely inspiring enough to sketch out exactly as they appeared.
That’s kinda mystical to me, I have to say, but let’s all respect the artist’s inspiration because man… they seemed to be some kind of unique dreams!
He’d never worked in a series before. Every piece up to that point was a standalone but in January 2025, after about ten of these sketches, he noticed they weren’t separate at all. Same story. Same world. One brand.
He then decided to build a world around them instead. To create an experience, to create a world. That’s the start of Echoes Within Mūori.
And that’s good to know because I’m already tired after 6 months on this space to see meaningless and sloppy projects, for real.

Here come Point Zero. It’s not a drop, it’s a prequel to the story he wants to tell. The genesis piece for something bigger, a hundred editions, free mint, with the usual WL/AL mechanics layered around it as the entry point into whatever comes next.

It worked. Nobody knew about Echoes Within Mūori before that. Point Zero is only one layer of a much larger thing he’s building.
How to create a living system and not another shady “roadmap”
What he describes isn’t a collection with a release schedule. It’s a world-building project, chapters revealing over time, onchain and offchain, different dimensions of the same universe communicating with each other.
I’m a storyteller and a marketer, of course it speaks to me!
Each chapter gets two names: one in Mūori, one in English. I will not tell you about the first chapter… but it will come (and it will be great for what I saw about it, obviously)
Every chapter opens with a question and closes with a “ritual” you can complete.
There is also a completion mechanic tied to collecting his work. Owning a piece of one chapter “completes” it. It’s part of the system…

He’s upfront about designing for short attention spans, art-forward, easy to enter, fun rather than dense. That’s a legitimate design choice, not a compromise. Most world-building projects fail by asking too much lore-reading before you’re allowed to care… classic mistake.
Some advice for artists out there: don’t fall into the “people will get it” trap, they rarely do. Help them to understand you and your art. Guide them. Slowly.
The part I actually want to flag, because it’s rare enough to be worth saying out loud: 90% of his art is made in Procreate, finished in Photoshop, with some 3D and iPad work mixed in.
All handcrafted digitally. He’s experimented with AI as a tool for specific tasks, editing with repainting after it, and he’s clear that it couldn’t produce what he was actually trying to make when he tried it for concept art.
AI as a tool for narrow jobs, not as the thing generating the vision.
I don’t think that needs to be a whole discourse, but in a space full of “AI-assisted” collections that mean “I typed a prompt”, it’s worth noting when someone actually didn’t.

So… what now?
Is this a living system, or a very well-written mythology wrapped around a sequential mint schedule?
Honestly, I can’t answer that yet. Point Zero is the genesis of it all and the first official chapter will release soon enough.
Of course, Point Zero is an opening key for it, but it will not be the only one.
What convinces me enough to contact the artist and take time with him to hear his story and help him shape his vision isn’t the mythology copy.
It’s the sequence that got him there: burnout, an honest diagnosis of his own greed, a break he’d never taken before, and then ten pieces that accidentally turned into a world he decided not to sell piece by piece. That’s not something you fake for a launch thread or a quick-win NFT project.
Now, you must ask yourself only one thing: what does Mūori mean to you?
